I read a “Swedish Proverb” this week at school.
“When a blind man carries a lame man, both go forward.”
I thought this was a really cool image. All of us have our imperfections and our setbacks. But if we unite to someone else, we can get somewhere in life. Now this is the idea I had for many of the past few months, but where in this equation is God.
I now realize that both the lame man and blind man can go forward in the strong hands of God if only they surrender to not knowing where He’s going to take them. This is the image that is my new found reality.
And the cool thing is that from God’s hands, the lame man and blind man can still unite in showing others in need the power and perfectness of God’s hands. They don’t need each other, but together they can help potentially more people in finding God.
Forget the Swedish proverb. This is the image I want to live out.
